Projects Across Africa
Fertilizer Engineering Across Real Operating Environments.
Selected projects by Ferti and G&G Engineering span complete fertilizer plants, recovery systems, plant retrofits and wider industrial integration.
Together, they show how equipment and supporting infrastructure are engineered around the site, process, existing plant and required operating outcome.
Built around the project.
Endicott · South Africa
Replace What Has Failed. Retain What Still Has Value.
Not every fertilizer-plant project requires a complete rebuild. Where existing infrastructure remains serviceable, replacement equipment can be engineered around what is already working.
The Endicott project demonstrates this retrofit approach: assessing the existing plant, replacing selected equipment and integrating the new components into the retained process.
Engineer the New Equipment Around the Plant That Remains.
Existing structures, material-flow paths, access requirements and equipment interfaces all influence how replacement machinery is configured.
New Components Integrated Into the Existing Process.
Replacement equipment was developed to work within the available plant envelope and connect into retained mechanical and process infrastructure.
Retained conveyors, structures, access points and process interfaces form part of the retrofit engineering assessment.
Positioning, access and surrounding infrastructure influence how replacement equipment can be installed and connected.
The replacement hopper was integrated around the structures, material flow and equipment remaining in service.
Existing equipment and infrastructure are considered before defining the replacement scope.
New equipment must connect practically with retained structures, material flow and plant systems.
Installation, inspection and future maintenance requirements form part of the retrofit engineering process.
Mombasa · Kenya
Recovering Value From Severely Compacted Fertilizer.
Fertilizer that has become heavily compacted during storage does not necessarily need to be written off.
During a documented Mombasa recovery project, severely compacted fertilizer was processed through the FertiRecover system to separate recoverable product from material that could no longer be returned to saleable condition.
of the severely compacted fertilizer processed during the documented Mombasa project was recovered as resellable fertilizer product.
The documented run used affected stock selected specifically to test recovery from difficult material conditions.
Recovery in Practice.
Project photography documents the material condition, recovery equipment, product handling and practical work undertaken during the Mombasa recovery project.
Product handling and weighing form part of documenting what has been recovered from the affected fertilizer.
Screening, conditioning and material handling stages work together to progressively separate usable fertilizer.
The project involved severely compacted fertilizer, providing a practical test of the recovery process.
Usable recovered material can be routed onward for appropriate bulk handling and storage.
FertiRecover is designed to process difficult, compacted fertilizer through controlled recovery stages, separating usable product from material that cannot be economically recovered.
Douala · Cameroon
Complete Mobile Fertilizer Plant
Engineered for the Project.
The Douala project brings together material handling, blending, weighing, controls and supporting equipment as one integrated fertilizer-processing system.
Equipment was engineered and manufactured in South Africa around the required plant configuration, operating process and deployment requirements for Cameroon.
A Complete Processing System, Not a Collection of Standalone Machines.
The plant combines the key equipment and interfaces required to move, meter, blend and control fertilizer through the production process.
Key Systems Within the Plant
Individual machines are configured as parts of the wider process, with material flow, weighing, blending and transfer considered together.
Controls Developed Around the Process.
Electrical and control requirements form part of the wider plant configuration so that the mechanical equipment and operating functions work together as one system.
Operating Information Prepared for the Destination.
Equipment documentation and operating information can be adapted to the project environment. For Douala, operating instructions were provided in both English and French.
See FertiTransfer Within the Plant Configuration.
Workshop footage provides a closer view of the FertiTransfer hydraulic folding conveyor, its scale and the way it interfaces with the surrounding material-handling equipment developed for the Douala plant.
An elevated view of the FertiTransfer unit within the South African manufacturing and assembly environment, showing the conveyor's scale and surrounding plant equipment.
A closer view of the conveyor operating alongside the hopper and surrounding equipment that form part of the wider fertilizer plant arrangement.
The Douala project demonstrates the Ferti approach: configure equipment around the plant process, site and operating requirement rather than forcing the operation around a fixed machine layout.
Vlakvlei · South Africa
Colour Sorting Integrated
Into the Wider Plant Process.
The Vlakvlei project shows colour-sorting equipment integrated into an existing fertilizer-processing environment rather than operating as an isolated machine.
Product routing, distribution pipework and surrounding handling equipment form part of the wider process arrangement.
Connect the Sorter to the Process Around It.
The value of the installation depends not only on the sorting equipment itself, but also on how product reaches it and where each resulting stream needs to go.
The equipment arrangement supports product movement beyond the sorter into the next stage of the process.
Chutes and distribution points form part of the material-flow arrangement around the sorting equipment.
Supporting pipework and transfer interfaces link the sorting equipment with the surrounding plant.
Equipment Is Engineered as Part of a Process.
The Vlakvlei installation illustrates the importance of considering equipment positioning, material routing and plant interfaces together.
Wider Project Engineering · G&G Engineering
Beyond the Machine. Engineering Around the Site.
Industrial fertilizer projects can involve more than the processing equipment itself. Structures, foundations, fabrication and site infrastructure may all influence how equipment is installed, accessed and maintained.
These examples reflect wider G&G Engineering capability that can support the practical requirements surrounding an industrial plant.
Refurbishing Existing Infrastructure Where Practical.
The project documents the refurbishment of an existing industrial tower, progressing from exposed structure and access work through to completed external cladding.
Not every project requirement begins with new equipment. Existing structures and supporting infrastructure can be assessed as part of the wider engineering scope around the plant.
Practical Engineering Around the Plant.
Selected examples of fabrication, structural work and site preparation undertaken within wider industrial project environments.
The work shown here demonstrates relevant wider industrial and project-engineering capability. These activities are not presented as standalone Ferti equipment categories.
